In 2011, I attended my first Southern Worthersee. For those that aren’t familiar with it, it’s basically one of the best Volkswagen/Audi events out there. It’s held in a small German-esque town of Helen, Georgia. Look up our coverage from 2012 to get a better idea of what’s to be seen. Click Here and Here. So back in 2011, I met Dan Harvey through Vortex before the show since I was looking for a few cars to shoot. We eventually found some spare time during the event and a decent spot to have the pictures taken. Dan had to maneuver his Mk2 GTI over the...

Diogo's Porsche 993 GT2
By Paul Bars on April 18th 2013 in News
Back at the showgrounds of H2Oi 2012, I was getting ready to leave with Steve Da Silva and Jordan Donnelly when we noticed this Porsche 911 GT2 parked on the side of the road near the exit. This was going to be the next car for us to shoot during that weekend in Ocean City. It had to happen, and so it did. Lucky for us, Steve knew the owner, Diogo of AMS Autowerks, and called him up. We...

MK2 Brownie with a Shaved Bay
By Paul Bars on April 10th 2013 in News
Here’s a guy that spent just over three years building up his MK2 Volkswagen Golf. Jérémie Bérubé got the car back in 2009 with a 1.8L 16V Turbo engine, but he soon realized he was not satisfied with his purchase. There were problems here and there. So he took the leap and stripped the car down. Redoing the floor, sold the engine, and built it back up...
Ice Racing in Quebec 2013
By Paul Bars on April 2th 2013 in News
Last weekend was the third year I went to watch the ice racing competition in Lavaltrie, Quebec. The main event was the 4 cyclinder FWD races that featured mostly Hondas and a handful of VWs. Our friends from Gab Eurosport and DM Motorsport each had their own race prepped cars. If you watch our video and look at the pics, you will notice DM Motorsport brought in their own portable lift...
Article 18: Turbo systems

Article 18: turbo systems and pressure. By Federico Tamayo In the past, in article 7 to be precise, we had an article about how turbos work and purposely I neglected to write how the rest of the system works, mostly because of length constrains. In today's article we will go into the turbo system and discuss about how it regulates boost pressure, what happens with said...
The Frauenarzt Audi A4 Avant
By Paul Bars on March 25th 2013 in News
Our photographer Stephan van der Ark got to meet up with the owner of this B8 Audi A4 Avant. You might have seen it before, most likely at Worthersee 2012, but with a bunch of paramedic themed stickers on it. Not just any paramedic, a Frauenarzt, in other words, a gynecologist. Apparently the local authorities did not really approve it, so it was taken down. Here is a quick spec...

article 17: The brakes
By Federico Tamayo on February 23th 2013 in News
Article 17: Big brakes By Federico Tamayo Let us start this week by saying, this is an "all American value": Bigger is better. Not only do we believe this to be true, we also tend to think that its universal and so that it applies to every system on a car. The thought may be true for a turbo, because bigger= moar powah. Sadly, many people think that the "value"...
Photographer Profile: Patrick McCue
By Paul Bars on February 17th 2013 in News
I've known Patrick for a while now throught the Volkswagen scene. I've also been given the priviledge of having my Touareg shot by him. It was quite the adventure and I was satisfied with the results. A few OCMD laws were broken to have it done, but in the end it was worth it... Without further a due, here's a short interview I had with him. Where is home? Home is in...
Article 16: Fuels and performance
By Federico Tamayo on February 15th 2013 in News
Article 16: Fuels and performance. By Federico Tamayo Similarly to other articles, this one came to mind because of common misconceptions in the "tuning" world. The good thing is that if we all knew it all about everything, then there would be no point on writing these weekly articles! Fuel and performance. Surely they are related, right? I...
