VW Cabrio VR6 swap part.4
Afer a couple months I found this on a junkyard...
Yes I know, it looks pretty ugly but with some work it will look better ( I think).
Then the caVRio goes to surgery, finally! (again). When we were watching the damage this is what we found:
Started to tear apart the "new" hearth to see conditions and start getting it in shape
Found this little friend on it (hehe)
Waiting for the new transplant. Have been there before
Working on the "new" heart, cleaning it up....
After a good wash and some patining this is what we got:
Removing damaged engine:
Removed all the attachments on the damaged engine (we are gonna use them). In addition removing the carter and the tranny and washed the carter that has water, oil and piston parts
Engine without tranny:
Without attachments and showing the clutch stage 1that I bought for it and I never could use. We found a clutch slave damaged (on the dealership they didn't found it, even when they install the clutch).
Had to bought:- Water pump- Clutch slave- Gasket kit for the headI took the head to the service where they install all the gaskets, calibrate valves and all that:More photos:
This goes directly to a recycler to get some money for it:
The "new" heart with the repaired head, and part of the timing installed.
The next day we spent all the day washing parts..Beggining the day:
Admision before:
